SCC State Series

What is it?
The Sport Car Club of SA has held Circuit Racing meetings at Mallala Motorsport Park (MMP) for many years. Circuit racing is different to the other club events held at MMP (like Regularity and Super Sprints) because it is a contest between competitors instead of with yourself. You need a Circuit Racing Licence and a compliant car with a racing Log book to compete. This is the highest level of amateur motorsport activity and the State Championship Title is the prize. The place to find out more about circuit racing is the CAMS website www.cams.com.au.

In 2013 we have decided to work more closely with MMP to improve the circuit racing events we run. Here http://www.sportingcarclubsa.org.au/news.php?id=5 is what we are doing with MMP and why.

Here is the program for the 2013 season of Circuit racing in South Australia. Twilight meetings allow cars in certain classes to race under lights

Entry Classes
In South Australia some classes have too few competitors to front a full field of cars at each meeting. As a result we often combine fields to give as many entrants as possible someone to race against

If you are from interstate and you fancy coming over, contact Abbie in our events office on (08) 8271 5689 to find out where you’ll fit in. If you want to bring your class over for a round of something different then we will welcome you and give you a start for sure.

Get involved
If you love your motorsport, but don’t want to get behind the wheel, you can help officiate with organisational or on-track tasks. The camaraderie is brilliant, the thrill enormous and the fun never-ending. We provide all the training you’ll need.

Please see detailed below some revised changes to the State Championships series for 2013.

The State Championships will be run over 4 events and you must enter 3 of the 4 to qualify for the State Championships. The events are: Round 1 of the State Circuit Racing Championships 16 Feb Round 2 of the State Circuit Racing Championships 18 May Round 3 of the State Circuit Racing Championships 17/18 August Round 4 of the State Circuit Racing Championships 2 November

The May 18 event will be 3 races and a qualifying session and categories will be combined for the third race. The first 2 races will count for State Championship Points and point will be allocated in the finishing order of each category and the third race will be for trophies, it will be a one day event (not a twilight). Points will be allocated as per the series regulations. eg Race for Championships points 1st place 25 points, race 2/ final race for championship points 1st place 60 points.
