TRANSAM
The thundering roar of V8 racing will return to Mallala after a near two-decade absence, with the Trico TransAm Series beefing up the muscle-car credentials of the Homecoming lineup.
National Championship V8 racing returns to Mallala bringing back American-style race vehicles such as Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros and Dodge Challengers to South Australia’s home of motorsport. Competitors include former Supercars stars such as Todd Hazelwood and James Moffat, who will really showcase their skill behind the wheel as all drivers race vehicles with the same control chassis and components.
Mallala Homecoming will feature TransAm’s best under lights as part of a two-weekend stretch that culminates the following weekends Adelaide Grand Final. Drivers and teams will be tested to their limits by having to turn their cars around quickly to line up in Adelaide – with the stress levels and added trophy incentive sure to add to the spice of the weekend’s racing.

FORMULA FORD
Many past and present Australian champions, including Russell Ingall, Marcos Ambrose, Garth Tander, Jamie Whincup, Steven Richards, Craig Lowndes, Jason Bright and Rick Kelly, all honed their racing skills in Formula Ford with most of them competing at Mallala.
The circuit hosted the Formula Ford Driver to Europe Series several times throughout the 1980’s to early 90’s, followed by an unbroken run of rounds of Australian Formula Ford Championship events from 1993 through to 2006.
Their appearance at Mallala Homecoming sees the category come full circle having featured at the very last National competition event held at the venue more than a decade ago, giving the next generation of stars the opportunity to launch their racing career.

WARBIRDS RETURN
Built for military training and reconnaissance, the CAC Wirraway is an Australian aviation icon – and 65 years after it last flew from RAAF Base Mallala, it will return to the very skies it once dominated.
Once a symbol of wartime innovation and Australian engineering, the Wirraway now serves as a flying piece of history, its unmistakable radial engine and propeller roar offering a rare glimpse into the nation’s airborne past.
Mallala Homecoming will showcase this remarkable aircraft in a special aerial appearance, joined by aerobatic performers and formation pilots, creating a once-in-a-generation moment where aviation heritage comes back to life above one of South Australia’s most historic airfields.

PAUL BENNET AIRSHOW
Paul Bennet Airshows brings some of Australia’s most skilled display pilots and high-performance aerobatic aircraft to Mallala Homecoming, delivering a world-class aerial spectacular featuring the Wolff Pitts Pro, Zivko Edge and the Sky Aces formation team
Mallala’s connection to aviation runs deep — once a fully operational RAAF base, the airfield trained generations of Australian pilots before the runways fell silent in the late 1950s. Now, more than six decades later, the skies above Mallala will once again thunder with propeller power, smoke trails and precision aerobatics.
Their appearance at Mallala brings aviation history and modern aerobatic excellence together in one unforgettable display, transforming South Australia’s most historic motorsport venue into a living airshow for the first time in 65 years.

SUPPORT RACING
Mallala Homecoming will also feature a full on-track support program, celebrating the rich motorsport culture that has called the circuit home for more than six decades.
Fan favourites HQ Holdens and Circuit Excel will return to deliver close, door-to-door racing — a reminder of the grassroots categories that helped shape generations of South Australian drivers.
A special memorial demonstration will also honour the late Gary Rogers, showcasing some of his most iconic machinery including Bathurst-winning Holden Commodores and the Bathurst 24hr Holden Monaro’s that defined an era of Australian motorsport. These cars won’t just be on display — they’ll fire up and return to the track in a moving tribute to one of motorsport’s great characters and champions of young talent.
